一组 40 Taiwanese youth ambassadors, between the age 18 and 35, will start an exciting cultural exchange tour of the 马绍尔群岛, 夏威夷关岛 later this month. The students were chosen for their skills and fluency in English as part of the Taiwanese government’s annual International 青少年大使计划.

This program promotes Taiwan’s culture and values around the world. These young ambassadors will spend 12 days travelling through the Pacific.

The participants, who have been undergoing two weeks of intensive training, are set to leave on their trip next Wednesday. The program will run till 31 年 8 月, and the students will visit several key locations, engage with local communities, and participate in a variety of cultural and social activities.

Among the group, 20 students were chosen for their exceptional command of English, while the other 20 were selected for their talents in performing arts or other special skills.

The purpose of the program is to showcase Taiwanese culture while fostering international relations. While in these locations, the ambassadors will engage in 人文交流, which will include meeting local politicians, young people, and community leaders. Through these interactions, the students will promote understanding and strengthen diplomatic ties between Taiwan and the countries they visit.

Since the program began in 2009, more than 1,800 Taiwanese undergraduate and graduate students have participated. The government hopes that these exchanges will continue to build goodwill and deepen the cultural connections between Taiwan and the wider Pacific region.
